Farmgate Restaurant & Country Store Lunch Take Away Menu 2017
Farmgate Restaurant
n 1983 Marg O'Brien established Farmgate in Midleton, Co. Cork as a small food shop specialising in local, seasonal, fresh produce. In 1988 it expanded to a larger premises to develop, along with its shop, the now renowned Farmgate Restaurant and Bakery. A generation later Marg is now joined by her daughter, Sally O'Brien to further continue this well loved concept. Farmgate is supported and loved, particularly by local patrons, and has now become a national and international landmark. The concept is based on Regional food, supporting in particular local producers. Cheeses are local; duck is free-range; lamb and beef are locally reared; fish is landed at Ballycotton Pier. These are handled simply, with a minimum of fuss and delivered with an honest simplicity. Our cooking style is a blend of traditional and modern Irish. In 1994 Marg was joined by her sister Kay Harte when Farmgate Caf was established in Cork's historic English Market, the most famous food emporium in Ireland.

Firehouse Bakery and Bread School Menus 2017
Firehouse Bakery
At the Firehouse bakery bread really is king. Each day loaves are hand crafted and freshly baked, from crusty sourdoughs to slow proved yeasted breads. With an open plan bakery everything that we do is on show for all to see. For us real bread is bread that has nothing to hide.
Each morning you can sit and watch the bakers work as they prepare and bake hand crafted breads and pastries. Throughout the day our wood fired oven will offer up pizzas and flat breads served along with soups and sandwiches. Everything that we offer is made by our very talented team. The only thing that we buy in is flour.

Firehouse Bakery Restaurant Menu 2020
Firehouse Bakery
If you love Patrick Ryan and Laura Moore's bakery and cafe in Delgany, Co Wicklow, you should head to Heir Island, in west Co Cork, for a class at their renowned bakery school. If you don't fancy taking a boat to your sourdough (although it's less than five minutes by sea to Heir Island from mainland), the east-coast home of Firehouse Bakery serves up stunning sourdough, wood-fired-oven pizza, and divine cookies, cakes and pastries.

Fish Shop Menu 2020
Fish Shop
There is something blissful about a no-choice menu. Fish Shop became a set-menu operation after Peter Hogan and Jumoke Akintola opened a more casual bar around the corner, on Benburb Street. The menu is written in Sharpie on the metro tiles, and it's all exquisite. A plate of turbot, asparagus and Jenny McNally's Carolus potatoes was a true treat last month, making this my favourite Dublin restaurant north of the River Liffey.

Fishy Fishy Restaurant Kinsale Menu 2017
Fishy Fishy Restaurant
Fishy Fishy Restaurant Kinsale, is an award-winning restaurant run by husband and wife team Martin & Marie Shanahan who are totally passionate about what they do.
Chef Martin Shanahan knows a thing or two about fish. His passion for seafood saw them open their original Kinsale Gourmet Store in 1990. A fish shop and deli in one, it regularly had queues of diners vying to be seated. This roaring success led them to expand the business and finally culminated in the opening of their Fishy Fishy Restaurant.
Martin's background as a fishmonger ensures that the restaurant is supplied with only the best of fresh fish from the waters off the south coast of Ireland. He takes pride in personally knowing who has caught his seafood that morning and ensures that only the freshest catch & local produce go onto his menu.
The spacious Fishy Fishy Restaurant is set out over two floors, with an additional outside area for al fresco dining during the summer months. Whether you are a visitor to Kinsale, or living in the town, all are welcomed and catered for by Martin, Marie and their team. Tempt your taste buds with a look at their menu...

Forest & Marcy Restaurant Menu 2020
Forest & Marcy
If there were a poster child for modern Irish food in the capital, it's hard to think of a better candidate than Forest & Marcy. If there were a poster dish, the fermented potato bread with bacon and cabbage would win every time. Ciaran Sweeney and team quietly go about their business in this neighbourhood kitchen, taking the best Irish produce they can find, doing little to it and making their guests very happy.

Gertrude Restaurant Menu 2020
Gertrude Restaurant
The first proper restaurant from the 3fe coffee roastery was planned with children (and their food - and wine-loving parents) very much in mind. The spacious interior is buggy friendly and has high chairs aplenty as well as a comfortable nappy-changing facility. Even better than all of that is that children aren't condemned to chicken nuggets and chips. Half-portions of everything on the adult menu are available at half-price, and there's a simplified menu, with beans on toast and pancakes, in case your mini-me doesn't feel up to the pork tonkatsu sandwich or the duck buns - but why wouldn't they?
