Abstract
My work in Virtual Environments began in 2006, exploring the educational potential of immersive virtual worlds at Technological University Dublin (formerly Dublin Institute of Technology), where I created and led the award-winning module Virtual Environments: Is One Life Enough? in Second Life. The module used avatar-based learning to foster collaboration, creativity, digital literacy and critical reflection on identity, community and technology.
