Journal of Social Care Notes for Contributors

The editorial board will consider articles reporting on original research, critical literature reviews and book reviews on areas directly relevant to social care work, where the work has been conducted by social care practitioner and undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The manuscript should be your own original work and not duplicate any other work, published or unpublished.

Before submission manuscripts submitted by students should be pre-screened by two academics in his/her educational institution who both consider that the work is of a high standard. Written confirmation of the standard of the manuscript from the academics must be provided.

After submission manuscripts will be initially reviewed by members of the editorial board to ensure that they meet the aims and scope of the journal.

Manuscripts that fit with the aims and scope of the journal will be blind peer reviewed by two reviewers.

To facilitate blind reviewing contributors should submit a copy of the manuscript without any identifiable details for distribution to reviewers.

Manuscripts should be between 3000 and 6000 words in length.

Manuscripts should be in Times New Roman font size 12 and unjustified. See template for format for headings, tables and figures.

Work submitted cannot have been previously published elsewhere nor be in the process of being considered for publication elsewhere.

Authors are expected to correct proofs. The typescript finally accepted for publication must be regarded as definitive. Any alterations at the stage may be made only with the agreement of the editors. Changes in the text will not be considered at the proof stage.

Contributors wishing to keep the name of their parent organisation or agency confidential should contact the editorrs.

Author(s) should provide full details in their cover letter. See template.
