Abstract

HPLC and LC-MS are analytical instruments used to detect the trace explosives, however, the instrumental methods are expensive and require specially trained operators to prepare the samples and interpret the results, and these methods are not suitable for use in conflict zones. The overall aim is to deliver a method for the selective, sensitive and rapid detection of trace explosives in the field.
