The undergraduate practice-based research Community of Practice (CoP) aims to support and foster authentic learning engagement enabling undergraduate students to pursue research into open ended topics that foster creativity while working closely with experienced mentors. In practice-based research the researcher is a creator. Literature shows that undergraduate research contributes to improved student outcomes with increased academic engagement, improved retention rates, and higher likelihood of progression into postgraduate studies.

Here we host a collection of artefacts from the CoP. Initially we showcase how undergraduate practice-based research is supported pedagogically by our teaching staff while also highlighting the student experience of engagement with practice-based research. CoP members are situated across a variety of disciplines in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and other disciplines across our multi-campus University. Submissions were invited from CoP members and a core reviewer panel and editorial committee reviewed, draft and edited this Compendium of Undergraduate practice-based research.
