National Archive of Irish Composers
Welcome to the National Archive of Irish Composers
This site exhibits high quality digital copies of sheet music from the collections at the National Library of Ireland dating from the late eighteenth to mid 19th. century. The majority of the works available were composed by Irish composers or visiting composers to Ireland.
The National Archive of Irish Composers is a collaborative venture directed by Dr. Una Hunt between the National Library of Ireland, TU Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama and Heritage Music Productions.
The content of important historic piano sheet music comes from the collections housed in the National Library, Kildare Street, Dublin 2. In addition to the sheet music there are also audio recordings.
The project was initially supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport, an Roinn Turasóireachta, Cultúir agus Spóirt and is now hosted on the DIT institutional repository.
