Abstract
"Design is..." is a short film about Design, aimed at, but by no means limited to, Second Level Students and Teachers. The aim is to create an awareness of what Design is, what Designers across different disciplines do, design as a potential career, and the important role that Design plays in our society, economy and beyond.
The main subject is the role of the Designer across multiple disciplines. The intention is to demystify what Design is about, breakdown stereotypes and preconceptions and inform the viewer.
The film shows four designers explaining what they do through examples of projects they have worked on. These include Mark Murray, Product Designer at Dolmen, Paula McEntee, Graphic Designer at Reddog, Fiona Murphy, UX Designer at Frontend and Roisin Lafferty, Interior Designer at Kingston Lafferty.
