Abstract
This Build Digital guidance provides a structured approach to selecting and implementing information management delivery arrangements for public sector construction projects in Ireland, supporting the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF), the Irish BIM Mandate and the ISO 19650 series.
The guidance considers four delivery approaches: In-house, Third-party, Design Team Lead and Sub-consultant. It supports public sector clients in evaluating their organisational capability, available resources, project complexity, governance requirements and associated risks to determine the most appropriate delivery approach.
The accompanying four-document suite comprises a Read Me First implementation guide, a comparative guide to the delivery approaches, a project-specific risk assessment tool and an Information Management Assignment Matrix. Together, these resources support informed decision-making, clear allocation of responsibilities and consistent implementation of information management requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
The guidance has been developed by Build Digital in collaboration with the National Infrastructure, Local Infrastructure and Social Housing BIM Working Groups.
