Abstract
A long poem looking at the generation that grew up in Ireland after the historic 1979 visit of Pope John Paul II. Brood was filmed for Irish television with the support of the Arts Council, the Irish Film Board and RTÉ.

Brood, a long poem by Ian Kilroy, was filmed for Irish national television and broadcast on Network 2 in 1997. Sections of the poem were previously published in The Cúirt Journal, vol. 2, Fitzpatrick, Trish (ed), Galway Arts Centre Ltd, 1994 and Poetry Ireland Review, issue 45, Cannon, Moya (ed), Poetry Ireland Ltd, spring 1995.
